There was a $14,217.53 “Fraudulent Refund”. Someone hacked the machines while they were between companies. The bank said there is no way of getting it back and that it is “unrecoverable.” Someone in finance at the county is working on this to see if there’s a way to recover any of the funds.
County Library Manager Report
Backlog of about 2-3 months in acquisitions.
There have been a number of changes in the policy of acquisitions.
Since 1/2024, the main library has to approve all acquisitions for all 3 libraries, whereas before each section librarian completed their own acquisitions.
Following the new guidelines, in addition to completing all acquisitions, makes it difficult to get the new books ordered.
Hurricane
The library was open for patrons for wife, library cards, games/puzzles, crayons/coloring sheets
