Resolution Number 25-40 Columbia County Board of Education Requesting the Levy and Collection of an Annual Ad Valorem Tax for the Columbia County School District General Obligation Bonds, Series 2025. Approve: Yay 4, No 0
Chairman Duncan asked the County Attorney (Mr. Driver) why they needed to vote on this for the school board. Mr. Driver said (paraphrasing) that it’s State law, but the County is not issuing the bonds nor is the County responsible for repaying the bonds. The School Board is responsible for that and this was already voter-approved.
