Allen: Had a question about if the cameras stored Data?
Flynt: These are replacement cameras. The existing cameras no longer meet federal/State requirements.
VanMeter: These are old, 1st Gen. Made in China so banned. These new ones will be ready for AI down the road.
Allen: So these will have facial recognition, required by the State?
Van meter: AI will definitely be used in the future. This bid amount doesn’t include the installation.
Kent: So these are made by Korea?
VanMeter: Yes, these new ones are made in Korea. The existing ones we’re replacing are 8-10 years old.
Teasley: Will these be for both interior and exterior?
VanMeteer: Yes, and these will give us changes to views to because some are 360. The existing ones might only go 90 degrees, but news are 360. These will all be on the network
Allen: Expressed concern about the software and AI data collection, and said that the board might want to discuss this in more depth later. Asked which company the district uses as a 3rd party.
Van meter: The district uses a 3rd party to make sure they are in compliance but didn’t want to state the name of the company during the public meeting but said he would let her know after the meeting.
