Stop the Adoption of the "Guidelines For Determining Book Placement"

The State of Georgia Librarian (Julie Walker) mailed a letter informing Columbia County that the Guidelines which the commissioners passed on 9/4/2024 were not within compliance because the guidelines would need to be passed by the regional board. Columbia County can not unilaterally make this decision, however Columbia County does have a majority vote of 5/9 on the regional board. The Columbia County Library Advisory Board cancelled their 10/8 meeting due to Hurricane Helene. The next CC Advisory Board meeting is scheduled for 11/12/2024 at 11:30am. The next regional board meeting is 12/10/2024 at 11am. In the meantime, I created an online petition to urge the Regional Advisory Board to not adopt the guidelines regionally.
